Private runtimes and cloud execution

Connect a private device for agent execution and understand availability, project access and harness compatibility.

Updated

Choose where tasks run

Cloud execution suits tasks that should not depend on a maintained local process. A private runtime is useful when execution needs your own device environment, such as a local project. It does not imply local model inference: model calls still use the configured API and incur usage.

Connect a device

  • Open Team Agents → Private Runtimes, download the device client and follow the displayed startup steps.
  • Confirm pairing in the browser and verify the device name and authorized projects. Keep pairing information private.
  • Keep the client running and wait for its online status. Check that its supported harness matches the agent.
  • Edit the agent to select the device, save and run a small task to confirm execution location and artifacts.

Offline devices and revocation

Sleep, network loss, a stopped client or changed project permissions can affect execution. Check device availability and the selectable-runtime list before investigating the model. Revoke devices no longer in use so they do not retain project access.
